Community Guidelines
Stepin is built to create a trusted, safe, and respectful environment for:
- Property Owners / Managers
- Tenants
- Guest Users
These Community Guidelines define acceptable behavior on the Platform.
All users must comply while using
Stepin in India.
1. BE HONEST
Users must:
- Provide accurate information
- Represent their role truthfully
- List only legitimate properties
Do not: Post fake listings, misrepresent ownership or tenancy, or impersonate another individual.
2. RESPECTFUL COMMUNICATION
When using messaging features, you must be respectful and professional.
Do not: Harass or threaten, use abusive language, or discriminate based on race, religion, nationality, caste, gender, or background.
3. AUTHENTIC DOCUMENTS
If uploading documents: Upload only genuine and lawful documents.
Do not: Upload forged IDs or documents belonging to others.
Fraudulent uploads may result in
account suspension.
4. FAIR USE OF LISTINGS
Owners must list only properties they are authorized to manage.
Do not: List unlawful accommodations, misstate property features, or advertise unavailable spaces.
Tenants and Guests should conduct independent due diligence.
5. SAFE PLATFORM USE
Users must not: Use Stepin for unlawful housing arrangements, coordinate illegal subletting, or facilitate unsafe living conditions.
Users are responsible for complying with applicable laws in their jurisdiction.
6. ISSUE REPORTING
The issue reporting feature is for genuine operational concerns.
Do not: File false complaints or use it to harass others.
7. OFF-PLATFORM DEALINGS
Stepin is not responsible for:
- Agreements made outside the platform
- Payments made privately
Users should exercise caution.
8. GUEST USER RESPONSIBILITY
Guest Users must engage respectfully and use the platform for legitimate inquiry.
Do not: Spam, mislead, or pretend to be tenants or owners.
9. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
Users must not:
- Upload unlawful content
- Engage in fraud
- Attempt unauthorized access
- Misuse personal data of others
Such actions may result in listing removal, account suspension, or platform restriction.
10. PLATFORM ENFORCEMENT
Where violations are detected, Stepin may review content, remove listings, restrict access, or suspend accounts.
11. LEGAL COMPLIANCE
Users agree to comply with applicable housing laws and Indian IT laws.
